Golnesa Rezanezhad

Golnesa Rezanezhad is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Ghent and the Royal College of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent. She is a guest lecturer at LUCA School of Arts Ghent and an affiliated member of CARAM Center for Anthropological Research on  Affect and Materiality, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Ghent University. Her research and practice are focused on imaginative womanhood in relation to past and present. Her pluralistic practice includes drawing, painting, weaving, embroidery, patchwork, sculpture, installation, and writing. In her series of works, she brings personal, social and political matters. Through her feminist approach and collaborative methods, she transforms a self-reflection (of an artist) into a collective reflection (of a group of people) in the artwork. Spatial appropriation and locative identity over land, institutional space and public space is one of the concerns in her works and part of the challenge offered by her works.
